Magnetic Interfaces Designed for Wet Environments
Develop a stable power and signal interface for moisture, sweat, dust and outdoor exposure. Mounting, contact layout and sealing can be adapted to your device housing.
Protection for Demanding Environments
Design for sweat, dust and rain exposure
Solving Connection Failures in Harsh Environments
Outdoor devices, medical equipment and factory terminals face sweat, rain, dust, salt spray, oil and cleaning fluids. These exposures can cause problems for a standard, unprotected interface.

Charging Interruption & Unstable Signals
Frequent connection or industrial vibration can bring dust and liquid into the contact area. Increased resistance may interrupt charging or cause data loss.
Contact Corrosion & Short Circuit Risks
Sweat from wearables and cleaning agents used on medical devices can corrode contacts. Appropriate sealing helps limit liquid ingress and short-circuit risk, supporting device service life.
What Is a Waterproof Magnetic Connector?
The interface brings together four elements: magnets for alignment without visual guidance, pogo pins for electrical contact, sealing such as O-rings or insert molding, and a precise mounting arrangement in the device housing.
A matched male/female interface is developed for OEM integration, rather than used as a generic consumer cable. Its sealing design aims to protect the internal PCB and electronics even when exposed contacts encounter water or dirt. Verify that protection in the assembled device.
Integration with PCB mounts and cable assemblies
Magnetic guidance for frequently connected devices
Sealing at the device boundary to limit liquid ingress

Waterproof Design for Device Housings, Not Just the Connector
A waterproof part must also fit the finished assembly. Excess size or an unsuitable shape can affect appearance, device thickness and the integrity of the overall seal.
Housing dimensions, mounting holes, PCB layout and cable direction guide the connector form. Custom sealing grooves and connector height allow the interface to be integrated into the industrial design while addressing the complete sealing path.

Stable Contact in Wet, Dusty and Sweat-Exposed Conditions
An IP rating alone does not establish contact reliability. The interface also needs low resistance over thousands of docking cycles under the contamination expected in service.
Current, contact count and cleaning conditions influence the internal design. Spring force, plating thickness and internal bias can be adjusted to maintain contact under salt spray or fine dust exposure. Verify resistance and voltage drop during project testing.

Applications of Waterproof Magnetic Connectors
Match the sealing and contact design to the environmental constraints of each application.

Wearable Devices
Wearables need sweat-resistant plating suitable for skin contact. The design aims to maintain charging after exercise; verify the relevant material and device requirements.

Outdoor Electronics
Rain and UV exposure affect outdoor GPS trackers and sensors. Develop the interface for continuity of power and data in those conditions.

Medical & Healthcare
Medical interfaces face frequent wiping with cleaning fluids. Designs addressing magnetic interference can be considered; any non-interference requirement needs specific validation.

Industrial Terminals
Industrial terminals encounter dust, oil and drops. Select magnetic retention to reduce accidental release during normal operation.

Cleaning Equipment
Smart mops and vacuums can expose the interface directly to water. Deep sealing grooves can help protect their battery compartments.

Vehicle Charging
Vehicle-related charging interfaces may face vibration and extreme temperatures. The design can combine high-current capability with mechanical locking assistance where needed.

Smart Home
Security cameras and smart locks benefit from a low-height interface integrated into the exterior design.

Charging Docks & Cables
Matched male/female parts and custom overmolded cables can simplify connection for the end user.

Waterproof Magnetic Connector vs Standard Magnetic Connector
Match the protection level to the operating environment to avoid unnecessary complexity or early failure.

Standard Magnetic Connector
Environment: ordinary charging in dry indoor conditions.
Structure: a basic housing without dedicated sealing grooves or O-rings.
Integration: straightforward PCB mounting with less emphasis on exterior gap sealing.
Cost: tooling and materials are generally less expensive.

Waterproof Magnetic Connector
Environment: sweat, rain, dust, cleaning agents and outdoor exposure.
Structure: sealing developed through insert molding, O-rings or potting.
Integration: adapt the interface to housing geometry and mounting holes.
Testing: validate waterproof performance and salt spray resistance for the project.
